My name is Thaddeus Rule, (I am pretty sure Mr. Rule is the best teacher name ever). This is my 7th year in education as a band director. I am an Alma College graduate, with a bachelor’s in Music Education and Saxophone Performance, but prior to attending college, I served active duty in the United States Army for three years. During those three years I spent time at the Armed Forces School of Music where I played alongside amazing musicians, and I also served as a bodyguard for a Chaplain in a rapid deployment combat battalion. My primary instrument is the tenor saxophone, and my passion is teaching and sharing the love of music.
I am married and have two daughters: a 6th grader and a 1st grader. On the weekends, we like to watch movies, go to the beach, and go to my parent’s cabin on the lake. My favorite colors are black and purple, and my favorite food is pasta. In the summer, my family and I are outside as much as possible, swimming and having fires, and on the weekends, I play saxophone professionally throughout the state of Michigan.
As a music educator, it brings me so much joy to have students that have passion and desire to learn about music. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of your children's education, and I am looking forward to establishing a strong music program with your children. Please ask your student about the music we are playing and let them share the excitement with you. Thank you for being a part of The Whittemore-Prescott Music Program.
