Greetings to another school year.  We are so thankful to have a dedicated staff of bus drivers, office workers, and mechanic. Everyone works together well and due to the shortage of bus drivers we often find our supervisor climbing behind the wheel to help out.  It is because of our dedicated employees that our transportation department does so well each year. Now we are about to conclude another school year and it is time to start planning for next year.

As we begin planning, we need to reach out to the community and ask, "Would you be willing to drive a school bus for Whittemore-Prescott Area Schools?"   Please don't give a hasty no as so many do.  Driving bus is a challenge, and it takes the right kind of person to do it successfully. It isn't the greatest schedule in the world as routes are about 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon, BUT, it can be a great experience for someone who wants to be part of a team of professional drivers.  Why not give it a try we would love to have you join our team.

Applications are available in our business office, call (989) 756-2500, or online here.  Why not consider coming in and talking with us about becoming a bus driver?  We look forward to meeting you.

Other opportunities may become available as a cook or playground/cafeteria attendant to obtain full time hours.

Bus Route Changes:

Bus stops will be assigned based on the address on file. Changes to your home address must be made through your child’s school building with proof of residency. Changes to bus routes, due to home address changes, will be reviewed by the Transportation Supervisor, and students will be assigned to the appropriate bus. These changes may take up to 3 business days. Parents may be required to supply alternate transportation until their bus stop has been approved and assigned. Transportation changes cannot be approved by anyone besides the Transportation Supervisor.

Updated information:

As transportation no longer collects separate paper forms for contact and demographic information. It is important to keep your information up to date in Skyward. This can be done by logging into your Skyward Family Access portal and updating the information, or calling the school office for the secretary to update it. Up to date contact information is crucial in the event we need to contact you in an emergency. Your registered alternate address and who is allowed to pick up your kindergartener is also kept in Skyward and can be updated through Family access or calling the transportation dept.

Alternate Address:

If a student is to go their alternate address a note must be sent with the student the day of the change.  Our policy is not to accept changes by phone for transportation.  The request will be honored if there is room on the alternate bus for the student.  There are some buses that cannot accept passes due to the fact that they are at capacity.

Route Information:

We look forward to meeting your family's transportation requests. In an ongoing commitment to student safety, bus routes and stops will not be published online. To get access to our Viafy bussing parent app which will provide all the information for your stop/route call the transportation department to request access. Thank you for your patience and understanding as our students' safety is our number one priority.
